I first joined the Parish Council in the 1990s, following a career as a Chartered Surveyor and then Secretary of Moreton-
Self employed landscape gardener and handyman, married in the Village in 1988 with a son and two daughters, one of whom attends Gloucestershire University reading Religion, Philosophy and Ethics. Time served wood machinist with City and Guilds qualification. Interested in village environment and making it better for us all.
I joined the Parish Council in July 2016 having moved to Longborough in 2010 . My wife Helen and I and have previously lived in Henley on Thames, Richmond upon Thames, Mumbai India and Cheltenham.
I have a keen interest in preserving this historic village and have recently been involved in restoring the village Telephone box. I have been a member of the Friends of St.James Church Committee for several years. This charity organises and runs village events to raise funds for the maintenance of this important medieval building.
I am keen to work with fellow PC members to maintain the village charm and character. This includes resisting inappropriate development, intrusive road markings and street furniture, as well as carefully monitoring local planning applications and other issues affecting our village.
Our village publican moved here from The New Inn in Willersey in 2014 because he ‘fell in love with the place’. He will celebrate 25 years as a publican next July and says he has lasted this long because he loves meeting people. Before pub keeping he and Wendy ran a caravan and camping site in Cognac in France and very nearly stayed there permanently. They had come back to England to sell their house and by chance thought twice about it and were offered the Seagrave Arms in Weston sub Edge and moved in three weeks later! For Joe, a Winchcombe lad, it was a homecoming. He and Wendy have four children, Anna, Sophie, Tom and Luke – Oh and mustn’t forget the donkeys!!
He was on the Parish Council in Willersey for a couple of years and is looking forward to his time on Longborough Parish Council.
Patricia has lived in Longborough for over 5 years and is very sympathetic to the maintenance of this beautiful village. She has 25 years’ experience as a magistrate and has also been a Councillor and Chairman at Bourton-
None at present.
