At the March parish council meeting, there was a discussion about how the council could support the village in celebrating the Coronation of His Majesty The King & Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
Following last year’s Jubilee celebrations, we received lots of positive feedback on the various activities that all our village organisations came together to organise. One of those activities, the “Big Lunch”, held at the cricket club, was well received with lots of suggestions that this could be something that the village holds on an annual basis. You may recall that the event included people bringing their own picnics and involved lots of fun and games for all age groups.
We are therefore supporting the holding of a similar event to celebrate the Coronation, especially as the official Coronation celebrations include a “Big Lunch” event.
A big “Thank You” to all those involved so far in helping arrange this event – it couldn’t be done without you!
Event details:
• Date/Time: Sunday 7th May, Noon to 4pm – Coronation Big Lunch & Games (Subject to weather – will be rearranged to suitable alternate date if necessary)
• Location: Longborough Cricket Club – thanks to the club for the use of their facilities
• Format : Bring your own picnic, bar available, games for all
